Is It Time To Spring Clean Your Brand?
Tis the season for doing the twice-over vacuum, the once-a-year blind dusting and- if you’re in AZ- finally admitting that it’s not getting any cooler and it’s probably time to turn on the AC. Ugh.
It’s also the time where we feel energized to make a change, and quite often that mentality seeps into how we see our brands. If you’re feeling like your brand is a little dreary, don’t look past the impulse to change and take some time evaluating if it’s the best choice for you!
Here are some signs that it’s time to rebrand.
Your audience is changing
Maybe the age demographic is changing, or your business has transitioned like Uber. A rebrand is necessary to convey the right message to your target audience. Updating your brand shows you value your customers and have a firm understanding of their wants and needs. As soon as your target market transitions, you should be looking at a rebrand immediately.
Time to shake a bad rap
In England, Burberry gained unwanted popularity with thugs and gangs. Some bars even banned people wearing Burberry to avoid potential conflict. They immediately began pouring money and effort into a huge brand overhaul to reach their desired clientele again. Perhaps you just exited a toxic partnership or are currently being barraged by bad reviews. A new brand position and image can definitely help rebuild and recover.
You never got around to replacing placeholder graphics
It’s ok, you used fiverr and some generic icon to make your brand come to life quickly and cheaply. And then you grew and lost track of time. Flash forward, your amateur image no longer reflects your success. It’s probably time to get a brand that properly represents who you are, and it’s time to trust a professional that can help you.
Everything’s really outdated.. yikes
Oops, you’re trying to stay relevant but your branding looks like it’s from the early 80’s. And is never a good thing unless your producing graphics for the Netflix hit series Stranger Things. Odds are high that your company vision has changed, perhaps your market has changed and most definitely your brand needs to change.
Your competition is a friggin killing it
Perhaps the shittiest reason behind a rebrand, but an understandable one. Knowing who your competition is, what they offer and what you do better is the first step to positioning yourself for competition. There is no good reason they should appear better than you. Rebranding will help reevaluate your position in the market and set your company apart visually and verbally. It’s scary, but it will make a world of difference.
Times are a’changin and you just feel like it’s time to change your brand too. That’s great, we’re ready for you!
Its true. Professionally updating a brand will take time and money, but if you ignore the signs then it may end up costing you your business. Just ask Blockbuster, Borders, and Oldsmobile.
